Buy Asian Paints for target of Rs 1370, SL of Rs 1190: Prabhudas Lilladher

Sebi, markets

Nifty outlook and few trading ideas by Vaishali Parekh, research analyst - technical research at Prabhudas Lilladher:

NIFTY VIEW
Nifty with its one way fall from 11,750 to a low of 10,200 with oversold zone, a bounce is expected up to 10,500-10,550. The support for the day is seen at 34,220/10,280 while resistance is seen at 34,730/10,420. Volatility index too in its overbought zone, its time it retraces which would bring instability under control. Bank Nifty would observe a range of 24,350-24,880. A close below 10,260 would negate the view and perhaps witness new round of selling.

BUY ASIAN PAINTS
CMP: Rs 1,247.80

STOP LOSS: Rs 1,190
The stock has corrected from the peak of 1490 and currently has shown signs of bottoming out at around 1190 levels and produced a positive bullish candle to signify strength and potential to rise further in the coming days. The chart looks attractive for initiating a buy call and with RSI indicating a trend reversal from the highly oversold zone, a positive bias has been maintained. With good volume participation witnessed, we recommend a buy in this stock for an upside target of 1370 keeping a stop loss of 1190.

Nifty and Bank Nifty gets its weekly trend down, so for now this would be considered a bounce back rally. The support for the week is seen at 37,400/11,300 while resistance is seen at 38,620/11,680. Bank Nifty would have a range of 26,480-27,700. Nifty still has a lower top formation unless it crosses 11,580 decisively, further up move can be expected. Cement stocks have shown some momentum. NBFC too after correcting has given a bounce.

Sensex falls as rupee slides, oil jumps; SBI, ICICI Bank stocks down

sensex, stock, share, bse, nse

Stock prices tumbled on Tuesday as investors took money off amid rising macro-economic headwinds. The benchmark Sensex fell for a fifth day, while the broader markets clocked their worst single-day performance in nearly two months. Investors were spooked by the sliding rupee, surging bond yields, and oil prices. The rupee dropped to a record low of 71.56 against the dollar, the 10-year government bond yield ended at 8.06 per cent, and Brent crude prices neared $80 a barrel, a level last seen in May.

The Sensex fell 0.4 per cent to close at 38,157.92 points, while the Nifty declined 0.54 per cent to 11,520.3. Sharp gains in technology stocks helped the benchmark mitigate losses. The magnitude of the correction was witnessed in the broader market, with the Nifty Midcap 100 dropping 2.72 per cent — most since February 2 and the Nifty Smallcap 100 index declining 2.6 per cent — most since July 16. On the BSE, there were nearly three declining stocks for every one advancing.

The spike in bond yields and weakness in the rupee took a toll on banking stocks, as investors speculated that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) maybe once again forced to raise interest rates. The Bank Nifty index fell 1.4 per cent, while the Nifty PSU Bank index declined 3.55 per cent, the most since August 10. Shares of State Bank of India fell 3.2 per cent, while ICICI Bank declined 1.72 per cent. Asian Paints fell 3.5 per cent amid rising oil prices, a key raw material.
