IPL 2018: Winless Mumbai Indians to face RCB in search for maiden win

In the 14th match of Indian Premier League (IPL 2018), Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians (MI), winless in the tournament so far, will aim to score their first points by beating Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in today’s match to be played at Wankhede Stadium.

Both teams, with several explosive batsmen, are yet to find their feet in IPL 2018 and would be keen to gather some momentum with a victory at Wankhede.

Currently at the bottom of the Vivo IPL points table, Mumbai Indians have lost all the three matches they have played. First, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat MI in the IPL 2018 season opener, then Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated them, and in the latest, Mumbai lost to Delhi Daredevils.

The batting department of Mumbai Indians failed in the first two games, and when that clicked, bowlers seemed to have lost their tune. So, in order to change their fortunes in the today’s match, Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians will have to be careful about many small things on the ground. In the today’s match, they would like to turn the tables around with some good performance towards the end, as Mumbai lost all three of its encounters so far in the last over.

IPL 2018: On Jaipur home turf after 2 yrs, Rajasthan Royals eye a win vs DD

Rajasthan Royals will need to regroup quickly after an embarrassing loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad as they face Delhi Daredevils on Wednesday in what will be their first IPL home game in two years at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The venue has been an impregnable fort for Rajasthan Royals in its IPL 2018 journey since 2008. The weather in the Jaipur has been cloudy with a little bit of a drizzle.

Both Royals and Daredevils, outplayed in their respective opening games, will be raring to shake off their misfortunes and return to winning ways. In their first match of IPL 2018, Delhi Daredevils had been handed a six-wickets defeat by Kings XI Punjab, as K L Rahul went on a rampage, hitting the fastest fifty in the history of IPL, in Mohali on Sunday.

Back at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium after serving a two-year ban, Rajasthan Royals, mentored by spin legend Shane Warne, had nothing going their way against Hyderabad on Monday. Royals huffed and puffed to a lowly total of 125/9 after being asked to bat first. And then, Sunrisers Hyderabad cantered home with nine wickets in hand. It was a rather forgettable opening for the Royals, especially as they were hoping to perform on returning to the tournament after serving a two-year suspension.

IPL 2018: More than the fans I want to win the cup, says Virat Kohli

IPL 2018 - Captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday said he remains as motivated and committed as ever to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore to a maiden Indian Premier League title, beginning April 7.

RCB have been the perennial under-achievers of the competition, failing to go all the way despite reaching the final thrice. It all went wrong for them last season when they finished last.

"More than the fans I want to win the cup. I have been with Bangalore for last 10 years and we haven't crossed the final hurdle three times. I can assure you, my commitment is going to be 120 per per cent to try and achieve the goal this time," said Kohli after a training session.

Kohli believes that the current RCB side is 'one of the most balanced' teams they have had in the past few years and that it is a massive boost for him as a captain heading into the IPL.
