Farmers

Maharashtra protest -After reaching Azad Maidan around 5 am on Monday, the swarm of farmers participating in 'Kisan long march' are now set to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendera Fadnavis, according to media reports.

The All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) leaders reached the Assembly at 1pm to voice the demands of the protestors. The farmers were earlier scheduled to meet around noon to voice their demand but the meeting has been postponed for later in the day owing to the ongoing Assembly session. The AIKS leader will be meeting Fadnavis to discuss their demands and later take a call on if the protesters gathered at Azad Maidan should march to Vidhan Bhavan.

Furthermore, Devendra Fadnavis said earlier on Monday that his government was "sensitive and positive" towards the demands of farmers and tribals, who have marched from Nashik to Mumbai to draw the administration's attention towards their problems.
